San Diego, CA – North Coast Medical, a leader in the design and manufacturing of occupational, physical and hand therapy products and long-time supporter, has pledged $100k to Warrior Foundation Freedom Station and the opening of Freedom Station III, a transitional housing complex in 2023.

Warrior Foundation Freedom Station’s mission is to be the leading force in assisting, honoring and supporting the military men and women who have so bravely served and sacrificed for our country.

We are committed to providing our warriors with quality-of-life items, support services and transitional housing with “Freedom Station I, II & III” properties designed to assist them and their families during recovery.

“Supporting the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station is a source of pride for us at North Coast Medical, Inc. The foundation’s core mission perfectly aligns with our appreciation for the professions of Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy, which we provide products and services for.” said Mark E Biehl, President & CEO of North Coast Medical, Inc. “It’s our way of giving back and expressing gratitude to those who have sacrificed so much for our country and way of life. I am thrilled to announce that our support has now reached $300k since we began affiliating with the foundation.”

In 2011, Warrior Foundation Freedom Station pioneered a new approach and opened Freedom Station I – a unique transitional housing residence that provides injured Warriors with the acclimation time, guidance and resources to successfully make the transition from military service to civilian life.

Freedom Station III is the third transitional housing complex constructed within a few miles of Balboa Naval Medical Center. Freedom Stations are designed to provide a home in a supportive environment, while geographically selected to be close to the hospital, where a high percentage of the Warriors receive medical treatment, physical therapy and surgeries.

During the past 12 years, two Freedom Station properties have housed more than 100 Warriors. Intended as a “Hand-up, Not a Hand-out,” tenants only pay approximately a third of the cost of the median

San Diego rental expense and average an 18-month residency before graduating into the civilian world.

More than $5M in donations will be required for improvements on 12 cottages with ADA friendly build-outs, property entrances, gym, laundry facilities, outdoor kitchen, “Defenders Deck” courtyard and communal gathering area to complete the Freedom Station III project. A projected Grand Opening is scheduled to take place in December of 2023.
